How to Connect Your Loop Frame to Wi-Fi in a Retirement Community (or anywhere that needs a MAC address)
If you're setting up your Loop frame in a retirement community, hospital, dorm, or anywhere that requires approval to connect to Wi-Fi, you might be asked for the device’s MAC address.
Don’t worry—this is super common, and we’ve made it easy to find. A MAC address (short for “Media Access Control address”) is basically your frame’s unique fingerprint for Wi-Fi networks. Once you have it, just hand it off to the facility's tech team or enter it into their Wi-Fi registration portal—and you’ll be one step closer to sharing photos with the people you love.
If your frame is on but hasn’t been set up yet
Press and hold your finger on the touchscreen until a menu pops up.
Tap About.
Look for the line that says MAC address.
It’ll look something like
2C:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
. Snap a photo or write it down to share.
This is a great option if you’re setting up the frame for someone else or need to send the MAC address ahead of time.
📶 If your frame is already set up
Tap the touchscreen to bring up the menu bar.
Select Settings.
Tap About.
You’ll see the MAC address listed there in the left column.
✅ You've got your MAC address, now what?
Give that MAC address to the community’s IT department or plug it into their Wi-Fi registration form. Once it’s been approved or “whitelisted,” your frame should be able to connect like normal. You may need to ask them which specific network to select when connecting to Wi-Fi, it should connect once the MAC has been approved without a password (unless they gave you one to use!)
